Exciting surf-session
Wednesday morning I got up before sunrise. At 06.30 am, outside a closed surfshop I met up with my collogue Ben. He looked different from when I usually see him in the office, now wearing baggy shorts and a baseball hat.
We drove to the beach, parked on a street lined with beautiful big houses. Got into our wet-suits, grabbed our boards and ran off to the beach.
Oh shit.... turned out to be a private beach, all fenced in. Oh well. We dug a hole in the sand under the fence and crept through. We looked around to see if anyone saw us. It was a quater to 7 in the morning, absolutely noone was around.
Surf was great, the water wonderfully tempered, it was lovely to be outside in the elements. I fell off the board in a wave, tumbled around and hit my knee against my mouth. I could feel my lip pulsating, oh well.
Content and refreshed we walked back to the car and quickly got into our office clothes. I won't forget the funny scene of Ben getting dressed in that street. Trying to hide inside his towel he got into his striped office shirt, pressed pants and shiny shoes. The surf-board still lying on the side-walk.
Back in the office my lip has swollen up and changed colours. Our other co-workers looked funny at me, thinking my boyfriend had hit me. No, no I had to assure, I hit myself when surfing in the rain this morning with Ben.
Ben and I had a great morning. We will definately do this again. Like really folks, what are the chanes that the guy who sits next to me in the office is a dedicated surfer?
