Third interview at the big company

Friday afternoon was the third and last round of the interviews at the big company. Met with the president and vice president of the strategy department, the same guys I held the lecture for in the last interview. They asked some questions about my background, but mostly we discussed business topics.

They asked things like; if you are given the income statement and the balance sheet of a company (Sv: Balans- och Resultaträkning) and have 10 minutes to determine if it is a good company or not, what will you look at? What do you look at first? If you were to say one strategic thing you think our company needs to consider for the future, what would that be? One company is in a high growth market and has high profit margines but are short of capital. Another company is in a market that is not growing so much yet some, and have a positive but not high profit margine. Which of the two companies is better and why?

I tell you, everyone that I have met in this company is really nice and seem smart. They are not as pushy, up front and "talk before you think" as I feel many people here are. I asked a lot of questions and think I conveyed an honnest and representable picture of myself. Afterwards I was in thoughts, reviewing how I think things went, what I could have done better etc.

By Wednesday they will get back to me to let me know if I got the job or not. (There is a chanse they will be a bit late with that though.) Over all I am pretty satisfied with how I did. I could have answered some questions better... but I did ok. I guess it all comes down to my competition for the position, wheter they made a better impression than me. We will see... Exciting times...
