Second Intrerview

Just survived the second interview at the big big company. This is how it was: I was given a stack of articles downloaded from the Internet. I was told that in 2 hours the president and the vice president of the strategic department would come to listen to my lectuer about future trends that companies need to adapt to. Ehhhhh..... Well. The articles were about different things spanning from what some politicians think of illegal immigration to the USA, to how many percent of american dogs sleep in humans beds, to how Wall Mart are out-doing whole-salers in the US and to how Microsoft is being threatened by companies selling software on the internet.

This is how it went: Fist I stressed out a bit about all the reading that had to be done. For you who don´t know, I´m an extremely slow reader. However, I managed to get through all of it in time. I had just a little to little time to prepare enough to be comomfortable with the presentation. I of course used the white-board and made a mind-map of my core thoughts. This seemed to make an impression on the guys (and one woman). They were a bit older and seemed not so used to mind-maps. I was happy that I actually have some practise in holding lectures and explaining things in front of people from when I was a maths-, high-school- and elementary school teacher. Not that I came up with that revolutionary things to say, I don´t think I did. But apparently they thougt I did a decent job. Afterwards two of the people (who if I got the job would become my collegues and who I have met before) talked a bit to me. They said they thought I was organized in a way that not everyone was and that I aksed the right questions to the President. Right in this sense meaning that I asked about issues that the Strategy President cared agbout; environmental issues and issues concerning social responsibility (yeah, I know, the company I am interviewing for acutally DOES cares about such things and are a bit on the cutting edge in their industry about taking such responsibilities).

Over all impression: Of course there are things I could have done better. There always are! But I think I did ok to good in the big picture. If I don´t get this job (they have been interviewing some 40 peole in two rounds for 3 positions) I will get some other good job soon. This experience taught me that I am aiming at the right level jobs. I might not have done great, but I did good enough to be able to kick a similar job soon.

MAN MÅSTE VÅGA FÖR ATT VINNA. SIKTA PÅ STJÄRNORNA FÖR ATT NÅ TRÄDTOPPARNA. FRISKT VÅGAT HÄLFTEN VUNNET. Go Sedish values go!!! I´m proud to be a Swede and not a Norwegian where they say things like "DET FIXER SEG FOR PENE (söta) JENTER", JA JA, DET FIXER SEG and BARE MAN HAR DET GÖY (kul). I just can´t tell you how happy I am to be out of that looser socitety... Thank you everyone who helped me in taking that decision especially Kasumi, Helene, Sofie, Sofie, Sean and Wenche.
